Asyq Atu

Asyq Atu is a traditional Kazakh game where participants use special bones (asyks) to perform various exercises aimed at developing accuracy and agility. This game has deep historical roots and is an integral part of the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.

History of the game:
Asyq Atu originated during the nomadic lifestyle of the Kazakh people and is associated with livestock farming and hunting. According to ethnographers, the game appeared in the territory of Kazakhstan as early as the first millennium BC.

Rules of the game:
For the game, the bones from the knee joint of small livestock (sheep or goats) are used. Players arrange the asyks in a row and attempt to knock them down with other bones by tossing and catching them. There are many variations of the game, each of which develops skills such as accuracy, agility, and tactical thinking.
